The Challenge

The client envisioned a sense of harmony, a quiet counterbalance to the beautiful chaos of New York City. The challenge was to transform architectural elements into symbolic thresholds, creating a gentle ritual between the outside world and the sanctuary within. Rather than simply decorating doors, the design sought to cultivate a daily moment of reflection, where crossing the threshold became an invitation to slow down, breathe, and arrive fully at home.

The Result: Moon Pavillion

Inspired by the Chinese moon gate, Buddhist lotus mandalas, and cosmological principles of balance, the finished collection transforms each doorway into a ceremonial passage rather than a simple entrance. Moon gate circles frame reflection and transition, while lotus motifs symbolize purity emerging from complexity. A gently pinched central band and paired inner circles subtly echo the harmony of complementary forces, expressing the dynamic balance through form. These doors do more than separate rooms. They invite a shift in state of mind, like stepping from city noise into a more poetic conversation with space.
